Designing in the style of another designer is a fun challenge! I designed in the vein of Stefan Sagmeister because I appreciate the fact that he designs with his instinct, often challenging the traditional conventions of design. My solution was to design playfully, boldly, and energetically. Photo manipulation creates fun compositions that allude to Sagmeister’s use of distorted faces. A Sharpie-like text evokes his use of hand-lettered typography, and a simple grid system creates a breathable reading experience, contrasting the imagery and bright colors. Art is pain. YOWZA!
